KL Salsa Scenes

Salseras y salseros, if you’re thinking of heading to Kuala Lumpur and baila baila, I have come up with a list of salsa scenes in KL that you can check out during your stay. Of course, there would be bachata and kizomba dances too! Well, this list is as of October 2016 but I’ll try my best to update it as much as possible.

Where: WhyNot Bar, Changkat, Kuala Lumpur

Time: 9.30 pm til 3 am

1. Where: Havana, Changkat, Kuala Lumpur

Time: 10 pm onwards

It is a Kizomba Tuesdays in Havana every Tuesday night. They provide free Beginner classes from 8.30 pm followed by Intermediate class (RM 28) and 10 pm onwards would be partayyy and social dancing.

2. Where: SupperClub, Electric Boulevard, TREC Jalan Tun Razak (you can google Zouk)

Time: 9 pm – 2 am

One of my personal favourites as the dance floor is spacious! They have the same DJ for WhyNot (Monday) as well.

Where: Interlude, TTDI, Kuala Lumpur

Time: 10 pm onwards

I’ve never been here myself, but I’ll check it out one of these days.

1. Where: Svago KLCC

Time: 9 pm onwards

I went here during its first day of salsa social in KLCC, and I like this place because it has a good ambiance. It exudes a chic feeling as the place faces a good view of the KLCC towers and colourful light fountains. The dance floor is a bit small though, but the music by DJ Jinggo will dance that worry away!

1. Where: Paradox Art Cafe, Damansara

Time: 10 pm onwards

The dance floor is spacious with an open air concept!

2. Where: Hugo’s by Modestos

Time: 9 pm onwards

Never been here, but you should check it out 😉

1. Where: Friendscino, Damansara Perdana

Time: 9 – 10 pm (Bachata/Kizomba), 10 pm – 1.30 am (Salsa)

I have never been here as well, but you guys can check it out and share me your experience 🙂

Where: Havana, Changkat, Kuala Lumpur

Time: 10 pm onwards

I like Havana’s Salsa Night on Sunday as the crowd is more varied. Thus, more styles of dancing to experiment with! 🙂

Note: And if you’re staying in KL for a few months or so, you can learn to salsa at the dance school I go to – Ritmo Latino Dance School. This is where I learn to bailamos salsa, taught by a Venezuelan dance instructor, Pat Calzadilla. So, I would definitely recommend this school for those interested cos she’s an excellent dancer and teacher! 🙂
